When We Are Young   by

When we are young,
we do not understand,
love, power,
opression, hope,
only fear, and happines,
is this good,
or bad?

When I was little,
I didn't know about,
broken hearts, broken bones,
God, war,
light and dark,
but I was happy,
and had little to fear,
is this cause for hope?
Or for worry?

Now I am grown,
and I have known,
love, hate,
opression, and hope,
had broken hearts,
and broken bones,
heard of God, war,
and think I know,
light from dark,
am I better for it?
Or worse?

Innocence,
only childhood,
retains...

I am a child...I am a child…

I am a child of the sun
Warm breezes spark my spirit
I seek the light
And gold flecked rays,
Reflecting in my eyes
And soul

Born in a golden state
Beside the vast ocean,
I am a child of the surf
And sand
They give me strength

I am a child of the fields
Summers high in apple trees
Corn mazes
Berry brambles
Drinking from cool springs

Hiking ever higher
Forging streams,
I am a child of the forest deep
The scent of pine
And leaf strewn carpets

I am a child of the night
fireflies dancing,
starry splendor,
the full moon's
renewing glow

I am a child
Of the wonders around me
Within me
Raised in a magi Impotent
Devilish fiddler!
conjuror of suffering,
of heartless music.

His cause is already lost,
